Position Summary

The Executive Director serves as the visionary leader of the organization, ensuring operational excellence across the thrift store and referral services. This role has recently expanded to include strategic growth, overseeing the implementation of major grant projects (such as the ongoing Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthy Pathways food pantry initiative), and managing an Assistant Director who handles day-to-day digital presence, data, and grant writing support.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Volunteer Management

  • Supervision: Provide direct oversight for all staff and mentorship to the Assistant Director.
  • Volunteer Leadership: Manage the recruitment, training, and scheduling of roughly 35+ volunteers; foster a faith-based team environment through daily devotionals and prayer.
  • Board Relations: Prepare monthly agendas and guide the Board in aligning daily operations with the mission of “serving those in need.”

Grant Management

Lead major grant funded projects, specifically the Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Healthy Pathways grant implementation for the pantry. Work with Gather for Good on further grants.

Thrift Store Oversight

Make decisions regarding the thrift store and daily operations.

Referral Leader

  • Develop a deep understanding of the referral process: make final decisions on assistance given to referrals seeking assistance, oversee volunteers helping referrals, create referral guidelines, and work closely with referrals
  • Emergency Assistance: Help with emergency situations, such as paying for a utility bill after shut off during weather extremes.

Christmas Sharing

Lead the Christmas Sharing Committee and annual fundraiser in partnership with Shop with a Cop.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Leadership and management experience (preferred)
  • Approximately 20 to 25 hours per week
  • In-office required hours are Mondays 11 am to 4 pm, Thursdays 11 am to 5:30 pm, and the final Saturday of the month from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
    A hybrid schedule can be implemented for work outside the required in-office hours; some remote work is permitted.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $22,000 to $25,000 salary range
  • 401k match after 1 year
