The Lighthouse for Christ operates through a God-given vision to give temporary and emergency assistance to those in Clay County, KS that are in need.
We are committed to helping provide food and clothing, as well as some household items and furniture. Financial help is also available in limited amounts. These services are offered with a required pastor’s signature. If you are needing assistance please visit any of the local churches in Clay County or inquire with your home church about filling out a referral form for Lighthouse assistance.
If you are needing weekend assistance, please visit the police station or emergency room and they will get your referral started with the Lighthouse.
How do I receive assistance?
Lighthouse referrals will need to contact a church in Clay County and ask for a Lighthouse for Christ Referral Application. You may call the church and inquire or go in person and pick up an application. We encourage referrals to speak with the church pastor or authorized application signer about their situation and needs. We want to be sure that the process for assistance encompasses not only the Lighthouse, but also a potential connection to a church and the assistance and support they can also give.
You will need to bring your application to us during open store hours; Mondays Noon to 3 pm and Thursdays Noon to 5 pm or by appointment.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency or have work restrictions, please let us know and we can do our best to work with your situation to help you. If you have a house fire, please reach out to the local authorities and they will help you contact us for food and clothing.
